This is just too funny.

I just haven’t seen anything this good in a really long time. Sure, it’s from almost 5 years ago, but tonight it was new to me.

Open Source

April 25, 2012

I will be running a booth at the Utah Open Source Convention next week, May 3 – 5. I will have a small five panel Liquid Galaxy on display. The usual LG systems are made up of seven 52-55″ HDTVs, but this one will consist of five 24″ displays. It’s really just a way of introducing LG to the Open Source community, and a way to showcase my company.

HDMI Cables

March 14, 2012

One thing to remember when searching for electronics cables is to make sure that you get the right one.  I can’t believe how often I end up not taking the extra time to do adequate research.  Here’s an example of something I would have missed if it hadn’t been pointed out to me.

Be sure to read the description carefully when looking for your cables.

End Pointer

March 7, 2012

I am now an End Pointer, meaning that I now work for End Point Corporation.  My first day was Monday, and I’m trying to get into the swing of things.  This week has been pretty much all learning, so far.

Things I’ve worked on learning more this week:

  • Camp development
  • Chef
  • Git repositories
  • GPG and encryption
  • IRC messaging
  • SSH and public keys
  • Vim/Emacs

Was playing around with chef client today.  Here are some quick notes on installation on Ubuntu 11.10, not that anybody else will need them.  They’re pretty much just for me.

sudo apt-add-repository "deb http://apt.opscode.com/ oneiric-0.10 main"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install opscode-keyring
sudo apt-get install chef
git clone user@server.domain:/path/to/git/repository/package.git

Here are some links to the wiki for chef.

We are in the last night of our week long vacation. We started by driving out to San Jose, where we visited mom, the beach, and Great America. We then drove up to Bend, Oregon, where we drove up to Dutchman Flat, hiked part of the way around Todd Lake, rafted on the Deschutes River, and visited a bunch of friends. We went to Lava Butte and Crater Lake today, then had a barbecue and roasted s’mores. We have to go home tomorrow, and I’m just not looking forward to it. I’ve had such a good time on our trip.

Go Pack Go!

February 6, 2011

Packers win, 31-25!

Observations: Christina Aguilera was horrible. The Black Eyed Peas were every bit as bad, just with a more elaborate sucky performance. The commercials were really bad this year.

Melanie and Josh

Here is a photo that I took of Melanie and I today, for those of you wondering if we’re still alive.

Melanie looks fantastic!

Words to Live By

November 19, 2010

I just overheard some words to live by:

“Don’t go crashing through a curtain, cuz you don’t know what’s on the other side.”
