Tax Returns and Other Wholesome Goodness
January 28, 2006
You know, I love getting my W2. I purchased TurboTax from Costco back in early December, just so I could get estimate how much money I’d get back in the form of a refund. Well, I got my W2 on Thursday and filed my return that night (I had the correct numbers 3 weeks ago, but waited until I had the real W2, though). Let’s just say that I’m getting back a WHOLE LOT more than I was even estimating a month ago. I’m going to be able to pay down all of the debt that I was planning on, and I’ll still have enough left over to purchase a Canon 20D with lens, as well as a couple of accessories. I’m stoked.
Last year, I filed on Feb 3rd and got my Federal refund on the 11th, though I didn’t get my Oregon one until the 20th. Hopefully, this year it’ll be more of the same.
Watching TV
January 28, 2006
We’ve just started watching Road to Perdition on ABC. It seems pretty good, so far. Will report in later.
UPDATE — That was a very good movie. It was well written and the acting performances were superb. My wife was able to predict the ending, however, by virtue of the fact that her dad told her that he liked the movie. He always likes it when Tom Hanks dies in a movie. (Sorry if I spoiled the ending for those of you who haven’t seen the movie. Okay, sorta sorry.)

To the Left
January 28, 2006
Byron asked his mom this morning, “Does Satan live to the left of Heaven?”
Melanie, kind of taken aback by the question, asked, “What do you mean?”
“You know, to the left.”
“Uh, no I’m not sure what you mean.”
“Well, when you choose the right, it means that you’re following Heavenly Father. So, Satan must be to the left.”
Kids are great. Things are so simple to them.

No, Melanie and I didn’t have another kid. My cousin did, however. Tiffany gave birth to a little girl this morning, almost a month early. Evidently, everbody is doing fine now, though. I’ll post a little more when I get some details/photos.
